Azeezat Sulaimon, Secretary, received an Associate degree in General studies from Harold Washington College in Chicago, Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Accounting from University of Illinois, Springfield. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). For several years, she has worked as a Investment Verification Accountant for the Illinois State Treasurer before moving on to work for Illinois State Board of Education. Azeezat has several years of experience working with various non for profit Organizations. She currently resides in Springfield, Illinois where she was a volunteer in 2009 for a nonprofit organization PORA- Positive Options Referral and Alternatives, a non for profit organization that assisted women prostitutes with desire to change their lifestyle.
The organization provides support to victims of human trafficking and HIV, the incarcerated and the homeless. Azeezat currently serves as an Ambassador/Big sister Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region since 2010. As an Ambassador/Big sister, she serves as a mentor, friend and positive role model to a young girl in the Springfield community. She cultivates relationship to provide young girls with skills to manage everyday challenges throughout the community. She also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County a community driven nonprofit organization that develops working partnerships with local business, churches, community organizations and others to build simple, decent and affordable housing for all people In need.
